I graduated from Texas A & M International University in 2011 with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, and Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in 2013 with a Master's of Library Science. I obtained a Doctorate of Education in Instructional Design Systems and Technology from SHSU in 2022. Finally, I completed a Principal Professional Certificate from Texas A & M International University.
I hold a Texas Educator Certificate in Early Childhood through 6th Grade - Bilingual and a Library Media Specialist Certification Early Childhood - 12th Grade. I also hold a Texas Principal as Instructional Leader Certification Early Childhood – 12th. I have been an Instructional Technology Teacher for over 10 years. I also have coached High School JV and Freshman Volleyball teams at JB Alexander High School.
I am a member of the Texas Computer Education Association and the Texas Library Association.
I have been a part of the United Independent School District for 13 years- 6 as a classroom teacher and 8 as a library media specialist. My continuing research focus is on instructional technology and design systems with a specialization in literacy programs which support English Learners. I am a certified T-TESS Evaluator, Advanced Educational Leadership, Google Trainer and hold SMART Lumio Digital Educator and Screencastify Genius certifications. I have been a curriculum/ scope and sequence designer for reading and technology integrations and I was a Golden Apple Nominee in 2018 and 2022. I have been the TELPAS and TELPAS ALT campus administrator. I am the Gifted and Talented sponsor.
